How would you react in the face of danger?
Would you know how to protect yourself?
Would you know how to protect
your loved ones?
We have all asked ourselves these questions, but more often than not, they go unanswered. They get pushed to the back of the mind and we are lulled into a false sense of security by the ever-comforting “It will never happen to me” attitude.
The truth is… IT CAN HAPPEN TO ANYONE!
Luckily, there are tools that we can learn and put into use to minimize the chances of falling victim to adverse situations, and to help escape them when unavoidable.
Self-Defense Solutions is dedicated to making personal safety available to everyone, regardless of age, size, gender, or even time limitations. By using readily available, easily remembered techniques along with simple concepts that anyone can adopt, we make personal safety easy and effective.
We offer varying levels of self-defense and personal safety workshops, incorporating numerous martial arts, as well as Non-Deadly Force Training. Each of our workshops can be tailored to meet the specific needs of those in attendance. No previous martial arts training is needed to get started.
With our variety of courses and our ability to come to your facility to train you, your staff and your loved ones, there are no more excuses for not giving yourself what you deserve:
PEACE OF MIND.
Two hours of your time could save your life!
SDS Level:1
Avoid, Evade, Escape
The most versatile program we offer is tailored to everyday people. The techniques are easily learned and based on body mechanics you have been doing your whole life (i.e., clapping hands, turning a key, knocking on a door, etc.).
This program is based on a self-escape philosophy. The program doesn’t teach you how to stand and fight an assailant, it teaches you how to create a window of opportunity to get away.
This program will also show how to be more aware of your surroundings in order to help avoid being caught in a bad situation when avoidable.
Level:1 is the foundation; it lays the groundwork and introduces tools and concepts that each subsequent course will build upon.
No previous training is necessary in order to take part in Level:1.
At Self-Defense Solutions, all of our programs build self-confidence through education and training. They will empower you with specific knowledge and skills useful in handling difficult situations.
Advanced Courses
After completing Level:1, continue developing your knowledge, awareness, and physical skills with these advanced courses, each of which is designed to deal with higher levels of threat stemming from specific sets of circumstances.
SDS Level:2
Going to the Ground
(and getting back up!)
L:2 deals with one of the most common outcomes of altercations and assaults: ending up on the ground. Building on the knowledge and the tools learned in L:1, this course covers how to fall properly, how to identify and understand the differences between grounded positions, and, most importantly, how to get back to your feet.
SDS Level:3
Blocking and Striking
L:3 introduces basic blocks and strikes that anyone can use effectively. Using gross motor skills, these techniques are based off of your body’s natural reactions to common threats, eliminating the need to have to “learn” new body mechanics or fancy techniques.
SDS Level:4
Choke Defense Series
L:4 is comprised of a series of defenses and escapes from common chokeholds, from both standing and grounded positions. This series revisits material from the previous courses, along with introducing new information and concepts specific to these types of attacks.
What makes SDS
the perfect solution for you?
As an individual… It is your inherent right to protect yourself and your loved ones against those trying to do you harm. Just remember, having the right to defend yourself and having the ability to defend yourself are not one and the same. We believe everyone should be equipped with not only the physical tools, but also the confidence necessary to deal with any situation. Statistically speaking, the more prepared you are to face a life-threatening situation, the less likely you are to find yourself in one.
As a group… It is very important to understand the serious nature of this type of training. However, it is just as important to be comfortable and relaxed enough to understand and retain the material being taught. Training in a familiar environment with friends, family, or co-workers can make it much less intimidating. Training with people you know also gives you an instant peer group to practice and “compare notes” with.
As an employer… It is your responsibility to provide your employees with a safe environment in which to work. Offering them a chance to learn how to protect themselves against any number of situations that may occur at work (or anywhere else) shows that their safety is important to you. From a legal standpoint, it can also help to limit your liability if some unforeseen event does happen to an employee at, or on their way to or from, work. Showing that you care about the well-being of your employees can also be a great morale booster for your staff.
